A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow

For Lila Reyes, a summer in England was never part of the plan. The plan was 1) take over her abuela’s role as head baker at their panadería, 2) move in with her best friend after graduation, and 3) live happily ever after with her boyfriend. But then the Trifecta happened, and everything—including Lila herself—fell apart. Worried about Lila’s mental health, her parents make a new plan for her: spend three months with family friends in Winchester, England, to relax and reset. But with the lack of sun, a grumpy inn cook, and a small town lacking Miami flavor (both in food and otherwise), what would be a dream trip for some feels more like a nightmare to Lila…until she meets Orion Maxwell. A teashop clerk with troubles of his own, Orion is determined to help Lila out of her funk, and appoints himself as her personal tour guide. From Winchester’s drama-filled music scene to the sweeping English countryside, it isn’t long before Lila is not only charmed by Orion, but England itself. Soon a new future is beginning to form in Lila’s mind—one that would mean leaving everything she ever planned behind.

I literally love every single thing about this book! This book hit me in the feels in the best possible way , it was so beautiful, I was in tears reading this book. I don't typically read a lot of YA, but when I read what this was about I was drawn to it. I just like Lila was vey close to my grandma. Although she didn't own a restaurant, food and feeding people was one of her passions, and so much of our time together was spent in the kitchen. I loved the way Lila spoke so highly of her grandmother and their time together. I loved seeing the Cuban culture we get to see in this book, and I loved seeing Lila's time in England. I love Lila as our heroine. I know that I haven't been 17 in a lot of years, but Lila felt so real to me. Her emotions regarding her relationships with her ex boyfriend, her best friend, her family and even herself felt genuine. I love seeing her growth. Orion is way too young to be a book boyfriend, but he is amazing! I absolutely love Lila and Orion together. Their relationship felt way more mature than several adult romances that I've read. This book is full of family, friendships. It was sweet and swoony. I had the best time reading this book, it will go down as one of my favorite books I've read this year.
